Seymour looked as if it would leave Cosby on a snowy night with their third victory of the season, as the Eagles led for the majority of the game and held a 13-point advantage in the fourth quarter. BY BRIAN HAMILTON RUTLEDGE – Seymour clinched a playoff birth with a 35-14 win over Grainger on Friday, one year after going winless. “The turnover game is very important,” Seymour head coach Scott Branton said. “Whoever wins the turnover battle and runs the football better usually wins.” Seymour forced seven Grainger turnovers and slightly outrushed the Grizzlies 131 to 125. The Greene Devils amassed 320 of their 412 total yards in the first half, cruising to a 56-7 halftime lead. Madon Gudger ran in for a 1-yard touchdown to give Greeneville a 7-0 lead with 9:01  left in the first. BY BRIAN HAMILTON GATLINBURG – The Seymour Eagles went winless in 2020, but snapped an 11-game losing streak, dating back to 2019, with a 14-13 overtime win against cross-county rival Gatlinburg-Pittman.
