Lady Scots pick up first win of season in conference bout with Wesleyan
BY BRIAN HAMILTON MARYVILLE – It was a battle of two winless teams on Tuesday night, so something had to give. We know Knox West is young, but we were just trying to get a little momentum for Friday …

The Bearettes were tasked with unseating 11-0 Lipscomb Academy in the semifinals (58-46) and then taking down 14-0 Heritage in the final. “I’ve never been one who cares if you’re undefeated,” Heritage head coach Rick Howard said after the game. “I think you need to lose every now and then just to keep you honest and make sure your ego is down and know that somebody can beat you. That doesn’t bother me more than playing terrible offensively.” …
Bearettes throttle South-Doyle in Winter Shootout
BY BRIAN HAMILTON SEVIERVILLE – South-Doyle had barely finished their pop-tarts and coffee before the Bearettes had jumped down their necks in a 10 a.m. tip Friday morning. We’ve got several teams in from out of the area who we don’t get to see very often and that’s what makes it neat.” South-Doyle is …
