William Blount volleyball rebounds to defeat CAK

The William Blount Lady Govs defeated Christian Academy of Knoxville in two sets, winning 25-14 and 25-16 over the Lady Warriors on Tuesday night.

The Lady Governors (1-2) lost their first two matches of the season to Knoxville Catholic and Cleveland on Monday, but used fiery starts to jump out on the Lady Warriors.

William Blount jumped out 10-2 in the first set, but let CAK come back to within five, at 13-8, before pulling away for a 25-14 victory.

The Lady Govs notched 10 consecutive points to begin the second set, en route to a 25-16 win and a 2-0 sweep over CAK.

William Blount’s Katie Sylvia notched the most kills, with five, while Emilee Anthony led the Lady Govs with nine digs. Camryn Crysdale added seven digs and finished with a team high eight assists.

The Lady Govs will travel to Loudon on Thursday to face off against the Lady Redskins at 6 p.m.
