Anderson County spoils Alcoa perfect season, hands Tornadoes first region loss since 2011
BY BRIAN HAMILTON CLINTON – The last time Alcoa lost a region game, Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ was atop the Billboard charts and ‘Puss In Boots’ was on top in the box office. That date was October 28, 2011, when the Tornadoes lost to CAK 24-14. That was back before the TSSAA split into two divisions for public and private schools. Lady Tigers defeat Eagleton 70-37 behind Norwood’s 38

The team’s shooting improved in the second half, as leading scorer Makaylee Stalcup finally got on the board in the third quarter. The 0-10 Wesleyan Lady Wolves visited 0-8 Maryville College with both squads eyeing its first win of the season. Rebels take down Morristown West behind Martin dunkfest
BY BRIAN HAMILTON KNOXVILLE – Devyn Martin dunked the first two points of the game. Then he dunked the next two. The senior standout dunked frequently on Monday night, totaling five slams in the contest. Morristown West had no answer for Knox West’s size, as Martin and fellow senior Kevin Jack were able to have their way in the frontcourt and on the glass, as the Rebels came away with a 74-53 win.
