BY BRIAN HAMILTON COSBY – The Eagles’ defense played well early, but Unaka’s high-octane offense was too much to handle in the end, as Cosby lost its final region game by a score of 54-12. Devonte Wigfall intercepted Unaka quarterback Landon Ramsey on the Rangers’ first drive to give Cosby good field position for their first possession. The Eagles drove to the Unaka 5-yard line, but turned the ball over when quarterback Tyler Turner fumbled a handoff, which the Rangers recovered. RED BOILING SPRINGS – Cosby traveled to Red Boiling Springs on Friday night to face the winless Bulldogs and came away with a 20-0 shut out loss. BY BRIAN HAMILTON ERWIN – Cosby fell to 0-2 Friday night, as Unicoi County blew out the Eagles 44-0 behind four touchdowns combined from Nehemiah Edwards and Caleb Pelaez. Palaez had an 11-yard touchdown run and also returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown. The route was on early, as Edwards went 59 yards for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage. BY BRIAN HAMILTON SUNBRIGHT – The Cosby Eagles traveled to Sunbright on Friday night to face the Tigers. Cosby fell into an early deficit and trailed 35-12 at halftime. The Eagles played much better in the second half, but were unable to make up any of the deficit, falling 53-24.
