Morristown East earns first win of season, defeating Cocke County 42-7

However, the Hurricanes would score 42 unanswered points to win 42-7. Cocke County received the opening kick and marched down the field for a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead with 9:12 left in the first quarter. Jefferson County takes down Hardin Valley 42-7 on homecoming

BY BRIAN HAMILTON DANDRIDGE – Jefferson County jumped out to a 14-0 lead and led 21-7 at halftime, as the Patriots would defeat Hardin Valley 42-7 on homecoming. Omarian Mills scored the first two touchdowns of the game and Jefferson County would try an onside kick on the ensuing kickoff. The Hawks recovered the punt and returned it to the Patriots’ 1-yard line. A quarterback sneak would make the score 14-7. The rain let up just enough for the homecoming court to remain dry at halftime, but started back heavy in the second half.
