Carter falls to Webb in opener 46-21

BY BRIAN HAMILTON KNOXVILLE – Carter did not start the season the way Coach Justin Pressley had hoped after a solid showing in last week’s jamboree at Knox Central. The Hornets kept pace with Webb early, trailing just 19-14 at the half, but a 27-point second half by the Spartans sent Carter home with a 46-21 loss. Carter scores three runs in bottom of 6th to defeat Seymour and advance to district championship

BY BRIAN HAMILTON STRAWBERRY PLAINS – Tuesday’s game between Carter and Seymour was a game of runs. The Hornets jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the second inning and then remained scoreless for the next three innings, while Seymour battled back to tie the game at 3-3 in the top of the sixth. Lady Eagles hold Carter to single digits in district semifinal

BY BRIAN HAMILTON SEYMOUR – The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 23-0 lead before surrendering a basket to Carter in the teams’ district semifinal matchup on Thursday night. Seymour went on to win 56-8 and advanced to the District 3 championship on Monday night. Thursday night was a milestone, as it was the lowest total Seymour held an opponent to since at least 2000.
