BY BRIAN HAMILTON KNOXVILLE – After a late game collapse last Saturday against Carter, which resulted in the Smoky Bears’ first loss of the season, Sevier County had more of an ‘early game collapse’ Friday night, falling behind 21-0 rather quickly. BY BRIAN HAMILTON SEVIERVILLE – Sevier County took on the Carter Hornets on Saturday night in a game that was televised on Rivalry Thursday. The game was played and broadcast on Saturday to make up for Thursday’s lack of a game, since the University of Tennessee plays. The Smoky Bears were missing approximately seven starters for the game, including several key starters on defense, which meant there would be a good chance of a shootout. BY BRIAN HAMILTON DANDRIDGE – Sevier County traveled to Dandridge on Friday night and came away with a hard-fought 21-13 win over Jefferson County. The Smoky Bears got on the board late in the first quarter when quarterback Collin Shannon ran for a score, making the score 7-0 with 1:33 left in the quarter. Sevier County would then go in front 14-0 when Shannon scrambled on fourth down and found Corbin Overbay for a 29-yard touchdown with just 1:48 left in the half.
