BY BRIAN HAMILTON KNOXVILLE – Farragut recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff and capitalized on the Cherokees’ miscue when Dawson Moore hit Trace Corum for a 6-yard touchdown, giving the Admirals a 7-0 lead with 9:03 remaining in the first quarter. Moore found Corum again for a 5-yard touchdown with 4:15 left in the first period to give Farragut an early 14-0 advantage. Anderson County hands Cherokees first loss

BY BRIAN HAMILTON KNOXVILLE – Anderson County came into its matchup with South-Doyle with a record of 1-3 and upset undefeated South-Doyle 31-28. The Cherokees fumbled on a quarterback to running back exchange on the first drive, setting Anderson County up with great field position. However, two plays later, JaMichael Ham intercepted the Mavericks’ Walker Martinez for a pick six and a 7-0 lead with 8:26 left in the first quarter. South-Doyle improves to 4-0 with win over 6A Bearden

BY BRIAN HAMILTON KNOXVILLE – South-Doyle found a way to win a tough matchup with Class 6A Bearden on Friday night 26-7. The final score was a bit deceiving, however, as the Cherokees trailed 7-3 late in the third quarter before bouncing back and pulling away by three scores. Bearden jumped out to a 7-0 first quarter lead when Nicco Young scored on a 1-yard touchdown run following a blocked punt. The Bulldogs led 7-0 after one quarter of play. South-Doyle scores 28 unanswered points to down Scott 42-10

BY BRIAN HAMILTON HUNTSVILLE – South-Doyle traveled to Huntsville Friday night to face the Scott Highlanders in a game that was much closer than the final score indicated. The Cherokees would score 28 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to win 42-10. South-Doyle would take an early 7-0 lead, but Scott would answer with a 13-yard touchdown run by Brady Strunk. The Cherokees went back in front 14-7 and led 14-10 at halftime, after Scott’s Hugo Henry booted a 42-yard field goal. South-Doyle hangs on to beat Grace behind Gary’s 4 TDs
