BY BRIAN HAMILTON KNOXVILLE – Carter’s defense was thrashed by Karns’ star running back DeSean Bishop on Friday night, as the junior torched the Hornet defense for 352 yards and five touchdowns in a 48-25 win. Karns got on the board first when Bishop went into the end zone from two yards out, giving the Beavers a 7-0 lead with 8:46 left in the first quarter. BY BRIAN HAMILTON COALFIELD – The Carter Hornets and the Coalfield Yellow Jackets scheduled a last minute game after Carter’s original opponent Scott cancelled due to COVID-19 and Coalfield’s original opponent Oakdale also cancelled. Carter suffered its first setback of the season, falling to the Mustangs 42-14. The game was played and broadcast on Saturday to make up for Thursday’s lack of a game, since the University of Tennessee plays.
