The Cosby Lady Eagles jumped out to an early 13-9 lead over Seymour, thanks in part to two three-pointers by Shylee Shelton and one triple by Gracie Johnson. Rebels’ season ends at the hands of Oakland for second consecutive year

BY BRIAN HAMILTON MARYVILLE – Oakland was able to hold off Maryville 24-14 to advance to its second consecutive state championship next Saturday. The Patriots used its vaunted running game to move the chains and chew up clock, handing Maryville its first home playoff loss since 1999, when the Rebels fell to Knox Central. BY BRIAN HAMILTON CLINTON – Seymour saw its season come to an end on Friday night at Anderson County. The Eagles held a 21-14 lead midway through the third quarter, but was unable to score in the second half, as the Mavericks scored 25 unanswered to win 39-21.
